Wangjing Soho consists of three main office towers and some annexes for extra retail space. The main tower shape comes from carp which symbolize fortune and wealth in Chinese Culture. The dynamic shape of the building from the top down gives the impression of lively carp in the pond.
The landscape weaves seamlessly between the towers and buildings, creating a dynamic, ever-evolving energy that elevates the site's vibrancy.
The challenge: the unusual building geometry leads to irregular plan changes between floors. To address the challenge, a parametric model was created in Rhino, with the help of Rhino script. We were able to fine-tune the geometry without altering the general look, yet make a positive impact on the efficiency of the entire floor plan.
